Pickup Truck news:
2017 Honda Ridgeline awarded NHTSA’s 5-star safety rating.

The 2017 Honda Ridgeline is the only pickup to earn a 5-star NHTSA rating and Top Safety Pick+ award from IIHS

Ridgeline recently became the only pickup in the U.S. to earn the highest possible safety ratings from both the U.S. government and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

The 2017 Ridgeline earned a best possible 5-Star Overall Vehicle Rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) adding to its ranking as the first and only pickup to earn a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS.

Ridgeline achieved a 5-star Overall Vehicle Rating in NHTSA’s New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) by scoring 5 stars in the frontal crash tests for driver and passenger, 5 stars for side crash tests for both front and rear seats, and 4 stars in the rollover test.

The Honda Sensing suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies comes standard on the Ridgeline RTL-E and Black Editions. There are more than 300,000 Honda Sensing-equipped vehicles on U.S. roads today.

Honda Sensing can help avoid or mitigate the severity of a collision and includes Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) with Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). The 2017 Ridgeline equipped with Honda Sensing technology has earned a superior rating from the IIHS for front crash prevention.

All 2017 Honda models come equipped with a multi-angle rearview camera as standard equipment. Additional standard safety equipment on all Honda models include Advance Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure; Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control; Anti-lock Braking System (ABS); side curtain airbags (some vehicles equipped with a rollover sensor as well); advanced front airbags; and front side airbags.

The 2017 Honda Ridgeline was researched, designed and developed by Honda R&D Americas and is produced exclusively by Honda Mfg. of Alabama in Lincoln, Alabama. Its 3.5-liter V6 engine is also manufactured at the Alabama plant, with its automatic transmission made by Honda Precision Parts of Georgia in Tallapoosa, Georgia.
